Creamed Chicken and Vegetables

Stew or roast:

 

1          -           -                       medium sized chicken (or 1 lb. turkey)

 

Cool, remove meat, and cut into bite size pieces.  Melt:

 

6          -           tablespoons     butter or chicken fat

 

Blend in:

 

6          -           tablespoons     flour

 

1          -           teaspoon          salt

 

-           1/8       teaspoon          pepper

 

Cook until bubbly. Stir in:

 

1          1/2       cups                 chicken broth (well seasoned)

 

-           -           -                       chicken bouillon (to taste)

 

1          -           cup                  milk

 

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly (1 minute).  Add:

 

24        -           ounce               frozen mixed vegetables (thawed and drained)

 

Serve over hot biscuits (Bisquick Drop Biscuits are good).


Yield:  6 to 8 servings
